I noticed the same thing about the seller in the UK, it does not seem to be original, I have two original SC+ boards, and they both have Jim Drews name on them. I also had the same trouble with the speed control box you mentioned. But it does the job.

Yeah, he's selling knock-offs of the RAMboard, SuperCard, and Burstnibbler, among others.
Not sure if any copyrights or patents still apply, or if any of the holders care to do anything about it. Probably not worth it to try.
