Hello there. I am aware that with rapidlok v 6 and v7, the specs for track 36 are as follows. about 7127 sync marks, 50 to 55 bytes of key data, then 195 to 199 zeros Does anyone know what the specs of track 36 are for other rapidlok versions? 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5? In bangui bob's rapidlok guidebook, this info is only available for v6 and v7. Thanks. |

Pretty sure all key tracks are the same... Keep in mind that is only what the heads decode, not necessarily what it on the disk. :) |

Confirmed, give or take a byte or 2. I've just discovered I can remaster an unpatched rapidloked game with the help of banguibob's -pr switch. As far as I can tell, all it does is rotate eatch track and then tries as best as it can to fix up the length of track 36, but sometimes, even that isn't enough. I could go into the method I use, how it's all done, but it's a long, complicated and drawn out process especially if you are new to this sort of thing, but it's easy and relatively quick if you know what you're doing. |

update: rl7 seems slightly different. track 36 should have 7137 sync marks, followed by the 55 bytes of key data, and then 197 zeros, giving the track a total size of 7389 bytes. I seem to have better luck remastering it with nibtools v 0.8.0. I only tested this out on rack em pal, I'll try it out with other rl7 games. |
