Are there any hidden switches in nibread? trying to dump a pretty rare original here, and it appears that some track switch density inside the same track.

Is there any option to deal with it?

you can try nibread filename.nb2
Then send it to peter so he can analyze it.

Hi fungus,

If you image to NB2, then it captures a few revolutions of each track at each different density. Unfortunately, there are no automatic tools to detect the density changes and make a proper G64, it is a manual process. So far, only a few titles have been discovered to do this.

sent =]

forgot to mention in email, that write protect needs enabled or one of the first checks will fail.

I've only done some preliminary examination of the protection.

there seems to be 3 special tracks 21, 27 and 30.

The first thing the drive code does is try to read track 18 sector 19, it then does some decryption of some more code etc, didn't get much past that as the stuff on track 21 fails to load with the g64 I have.

It's also a PAL game.

Yeah, it fails for me as soon as the first screen draws and it goes back to track 18. This is probably one for LordCrass. not me. :)

you could try the disk on hoxs64 v1.72, the disk emulation is a lot more accurate and it has a feature that lets you simulate write protection.

Ok Pete, I'll send it over to LC to look at then.

hyper: I have access to almost daily builds of vice and some drive emulation stuff is being fixed. Also, you can enable write protect in vice too. =]
