Hi there!
First: Great site, respect!
I use a XAP1541 cable with a modified 1541-II (XP1541 cable) on a PAL system with WindowsXP on a 3.2 GHz Intel.
Some images (Stormlord [HEWSON], or Ace of aces [US Gold] I've made with nibread, nibconv -r runs perfekt in VICE v2.2!

Unfortunately, I'm not able to get other images running in the emulator.
These games are:
- LED storm [CapCom]
- Turbo outrun [US Gold]
- Lifeforce [CRL]
- USS John Young [Magic Bytes]
- Western games [Magic Bytes]
- Chase HQ [Ocean]
- The games: Summer edition [Epyx]
- Card sharks [Accolade]
- Gauntlet [US Gold]
- X-out [Rainbow Arts]
- Vendetta [Sytem 3]
- Circus attraction [Rainbow Arts]
- Myth: History in the making [Sytem 3]

I need help to get these treasures running on my emulator.
Greetings
NWorX-Parallax

Hello there.
both turbo outrun and ledstorm use the cyan loader weak-bit protection on track 32 and in the past have been notoriously hard to get working on emulators.
The next version of vice should fix that.
u.s.s john young uses the rainbow arts track 36 protection.
I'm guessing you live in the USA, the pal build of life force does not use any protection, while the ntsc version uses a signature on track 17. for better results, Try alternating vice between pal and ntsc modes and don't use the -r switch when converting your nib images.
western games uses another form of weak-bit protection on track 18, again, this will not work on the current version of vice.
The only copy of chase hq I could find has no protection, but is designed for pal systems only.
Card sharks uses rapidlok and may require a bit of fine tuning with a hex editor to get working.
the games summer eddition uses vorpal-newer protection and will also have to be manually patched by an expert to get it working on an emulator, sorry.
Gauntlet, x-out, circus attractions, myth history in the making and vendetta all use weak-bit protection.
I hope this helps explain a few things.

Please send those images to pete // rittwage.com so he can verify against the database here. He also might have more info on those particular titles after analyzing the protection.

Thank you, hyper-active and Nate, for this information.

I'll send the images to Pete. I think it's the best way to get closer to my goal.

hyperactive is correct- most of these titles you listed either use "bad" GCR protection schemes, need modified to work in emulators that still read GCR images on byte-boundaries, or are protections that count exact sync lengths.

They all need patching or newer emulator
