Tell me more about how SC+ handles these disks. When you say reframing, do you mean in the .nib file or while writing?

it would be interesting if you tried rereading all those vorpal-newer titles with the current nibtools to see how they turn out.
i had to take the rapidlok keytrack from the patched apollo18 g64 file from the gamebase, write it out to a real disk at a speed of about 290.51 rpm, then in about 3 or 4 passes write out tracks 1 to 35 of the game from the unpatched nib file at around 295 rpm and 299rpm respectively.
Some tracks needed to be written out with the -bf switch.
Then I used the current version of nibread to make my own copy and then converted it to a g64.

It still hiccups on vice, but not on hoxs, which indicates that nibread has gotten better since apollo18 was dumped in 2006, so maybe this means those vorpal titles may finally be playable and dare I say remasterable by now.
it's worth a try.

Do you actually own any original disks? :)

The reading routines have changed very little over the years (like almost none), so it's unlikely. I've tried recently, you still have to manually process the "sliding" tracks.

Most work is done on track cycle detection and conversion.

I used to own lots of originals until they either got lost or thrown away.

I uploaded a Legend of Blacksilver rip using a modern version of nibtools just a few weeks ago. Since the game doesn't appear in the recent updates (indicating a new note or verified copy) perhaps Pete hasn't had a chance to process it yet.

Do you guys want to wait for that, or shall I attach it here, or some option C?

Hi Jason,

It's not possible to verify 100% disk to disk on Vorpal titles, as I haven't decoded the format in nibtools. There is a Vorpal-verification program, though, and someone has reported to me that the disks in the database (and GB64) are 100% verified to the internal vorpal CRC.

Good point - the ones I have are NTSC. I've not been sent a PAL version, or it has not been different to the NTSC release, which is common.

I don't believe it was released in PAL, even my copy is NTSC.
