That was a band aid solution to convert the tracks from KF to g64 then write back the long tracks with nibwrite, but it worked. Now I have a Kryoflux device, which does all the hard work for you. Oh well, it's been a fun protection to play with. You have to hand it to Harald though, he really was on top of his game with his anti-piracy system. We had to overcome not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 obstacles in order to copy the game The loader code on track 20, the check for extra drive ram, the short and long tracks, and the sync check on track 12. Of course, no game stayed uncrackable for long, but I'm guessing it kept the hackers and crackers busy for long enough for Cinemaware to rake in a decent amount of money. |
