I do have a C128, might take a day or two before I can get to it to test it though since it's at my brother's place. My current drive that I use for nibtools (a 1571) is acting up. The last few disks I imaged came through with a slew of errors where there shouldn't have been any, so it's likely got a dirty head, or is out of alignment. In order to alter the drive speed, I'll have to hook up my 1541 anyways. I tried Bop'N Rumble on my 1541 Ultimate and it worked great (the game crashes if you have the REU turned on though), but trying to use Maverick to copy that G64 from the 1541U to a real 1541 didn't result in a working copy. Maybe be a density issue since 1541U uses Vice's drive emulation core. I also tried the new 2.0 firmware that allows you to write to G64 images. This failed miserably and I wound up with a G64 file that was only 264KB in size. Other people have reported bugginess with G64 write support as well. Too bad. Hopefully this gets fixed up at some point. |
