You can't just read the back side of a double sided non-flippy disk by flipping the disk over, reading it and then and reversing the order of bits!! The top head and the bottom head of a two sided floppy drive aren't actually directly opposed to each other (because if they were, the two read/write heads would interfere with each other). Because of this, track 0 on the back side of the disk (physically the back side is the top side of course) is, if I remember correctly, 4 tracks further out from the center than you can seek the lower head. So unless you mod your drive or there happens to be no needed data on the 4 outermost tracks of the back side of the disk, no chance. |
