A feature that will probably be implemented at some point is serial nibbling on the 1571. It uses the high-speed UART to stream bytes over the serial port, making a parallel port unnecessary. It is only possible on the 1571. That is possible as I implemented a simple proof of concept a few months ago. I hope to work with Pete to add that feature to nibtools some day (and the xum1541 adapter), but it's a lot of work so no promises. |
